FIVE YEARS IN THE LIFE OF CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS BEFORE HIS ARRIVAL IN PORTUGAL: By Francesc Albardaner i Llorens (Lecture written in Portuguese in and translated to English in ). ABSTRACT: This manuscript was lectured in Portuguese by Mr. Francesc Albardaner at the “Casa Colombo – Museu de Porto Santo” in Vila Baleira (Island of Porto Santo / Madeira), on Friday, August 14th, , invited by the Direçâo Regional de Cultura da Madeira. The goal of this paper is to demonstrate that the biographies of Christopher Columbus written by his son Hernando Colón and by father Bartholomew de Las Casas are sufficiently accurate to allow us to complete and define the facts of these five years of the life of Christopher Columbus with the help and complement of several documents found during the last ten years in several European historical archives by the author. The main conclusions are that Columbus served the count of Provence and king of Aragon René d’Anjou as a ship captain in during the civil war in Catalonia and that he served the kingdoms of France and Portugal in the period forming part of the navy of Guilla

Q:It's been a big change for you coming here, perhaps the biggest challenge of your career. You have to replace Jeremy Burgess, and you have to work with Valentino Rossi. How has it been for you?
Silvano Galbusera: In the beginning, I worried about the situation, because Jeremy Burgess everybody knows is at the top. And also Valentino, Italian rider, great champion, so. The media, everyone, they want to know everything from Vale. So it's a bit critical, because I'm not experienced in MotoGP, coming from Superbike. Q:When Valentino announced he would be changing crew chiefs, he said he needed a bigger challenge. It seems to me that the biggest change was in his mind, rather than in the garage. Is that the right impression, did you make the difference or did Valentino make the difference?

After spending his entire premier-class career with Australian Jeremy Burgess at his side, nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi made a surprising crew chief change after the conclusion of the MotoGP season.
Silvano Galbusera, the former technical boss of Yamaha’s World Superbike team, was an easy choice for the Italian. The two worked together in , when Rossi twice tested the factory YZF-R1 while he was getting back to fitness after breaking his leg at Mugello. According to Rossi, he and Galbusera gelled straight away.
Despite his vast SBK experience with Yamaha and, more recently, BMW, Galbusera was a MotoGP rookie. So he needed time to get his head around the setup for the factory Yamaha YZR-M1. As Galbusera found his way, Rossi upped his race pace, racking up two wins, 13 podiums, and his first pole position in four years.
At the end of the season, the year-old Italian finished runner-up to the dominant Marc Marquez in what was his best season since Having signed a new two-year deal with Yamaha, Rossi isn’t giving up on his hope to claim a 10th crown. Galbusera reckons it’s not too tall
