Westminster ( Bình Sa ) - -Mục Sư Trần Thanh Vân đã được Giáo Hội Evanghelical Lutheran American & Việt Nam tấn phong Giám Mục.
Buổi lễ tấn phong được long trọng tổ chức vào lúc 2 giờ chiều Chủ Nhật ngày 25 tháng 7 năm tại Thánh Đường Reformation Lutherran Church, Magnolia St, Thành Phố Westminster.
Mục Sư Trần Thanh Vân được tấn phong Giám Mục là niềm vui chung cho cộng đồng người Việt tỵ nạn cộng sản. Ông cũng là vị Giám Mục người Mỹ gốc Việt đầu tiên được tấn phong Giám Mục.
Tham dự lễ tấn phong ngoài những tín hữu trong Giáo Hội còn có sự hiện diện của đại diện Dân Biểu Trần Thái Văn, Nghị Viện Tạ Đức Trí, Nghị Viên Diệp Miên Trường, Luật Sư Nguyễn Xuân Nghĩa (Chủ Tịch Cộng Đồng Người Việt Quốc Gia), ông Bruce Trần (Tổng Giám Đốc đài Truyền Hình VHN, phó Chủ Tịch Cộng Đồng),

Tran Thanh
Trained in acting at the University of Theatre and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City, he first gained widespread recognition as an MC, captivating audiences with his charismatic speaking skills and quick-witted improvisation. Beyond hosting, he has also lent his voice to Vietnamese versions of major animated films such as Madagascar 3 and Despicable Me 2. His acting career flourished with notable roles in films such as Nang 1 & 2, Trang Quynh, and Cua lai vo bau, while his presence on hit reality shows such as On Gioi Cau Day Roi, Giong Ai Giong Ai, and Anh Trai “Say Hi” further solidified his status as a household name.
Expanding his artistic portfolio, Tran Thanh ventured into directing, co-producing the blockbuster Bo Gia alongside Vu Ngoc Dang. The film shattered records, earning VND billion in its first week. He followed this with the productions of Nha Ba Nu and Mai, both of which continued to set new box office milestones for Vietnamese cinema. His work in film was recognized at the Golden Kite Awards, where Mai won Best Feature Film.
National Assembly confirms new finance, transport ministers
Nguyen Van Thang, aged 51, will replace his predecessor Ho Duc Phoc who has been appointed Deputy Prime Minister since August
Nguyen Van Thang was appointed to the new role from his previous position as the Minister of Transport.
The legislative body also confirmed the appointment of Tran Hong Minh as new Minister of Transport.
Tran Hong Minh, aged 57, served as Secretary of the Cao Bang provincial Party Committee before being promoting to the new role.
The incumbent government is led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh – one of the top four leaders in Viet Nam. He is assisted by five Deputy Prime Ministers: Nguyen Hoa Binh, Tran Hong Ha, Le Thanh Long, Ho Duc Phoc and Bui Thanh Son.
