Q: What about the 12th Imam of the Shi’ites, Imam Zaman?
A: A belief common to three religions of the world is the appearance of a Leader/god/Imam at the end of the times, to lead the whole world under the same religion. And the problem remains irresolvable as ever, as, naturally, each religion considers this Mission specific to their own Messenger/god/Imam. THE MEANING OF THE TITLE OF IMAM E ZAMAN (A.S.)
A title reflects the personality of man, his characteristics and qualities are projected through it A title reflects the personality of man, his characteristics and qualities are projected through it.
Nowadays such instances are extremely numerous where this dictum rarely comes true. The titles are some times promiscuous bestowed without knowing the actual meaning by the patrons and by the patronized which is out of context here.
The Prophets of Allah are familiar by the titles added with their names which throw light on their probity and innate qualities endowed in them by the creator. The prophet Moosa (a.s.) is addressed as “Kaleem-Ullah” as he had conversation with the Creator of the world, while our last prophet as is specifically mentioned in the Holy Book is known as Rehmatullil Aalameen – the one whose existence is a source and fountain of blessings in this world and in the world hereafter. Imam Abul Qasim Muhammad al-Mahdi was born in A.H. on the fifteenth of Sha'ban. The name of his mother was Umm Walad Narjis Khatoon. When he was five years old, his father passed away. He had two occultations, the first called Ghaibat-e-Sughra (Lesser occultation) and another Ghaibat-e- Kubra (Greater occultation). The Imam (a.s.) is still living and shall reappear to fill the earth with justice and equity, as and when Allah so desires. Since the reappearance of the Imam (a.s.) is a fact on which the entire Ummah has agreed, we need not explain its arguments in this book. As a token we quote here a part of a long article written by a great Sufi Shaykh Muhiyuddin Arabi about this Imam-e-Hujjat (a.t.f.s.):
