The Calpurnius Piso Family & The Origin Of Popes (Roman Piso, ) [Section One] BACKGROUND & SUMMARY Since there has been some reluctance within scholarly circles to examine the issues of a) ALL of literature in ancient times being written exclusively by royalty, and b) of religion being created by ancient royalty, I find that I must give information from my own studies to force these issues to be considered by those who may otherwise be inclined to ignore these issues because of either bias, misinformation, and/or the lack of information (or a combination of these). The point that I would like to make here with regards to that is that since BOTH histories and biblical texts were written by the same group of individuals (royalty), they were written so that those who read either could become 'believers' in either due to simple-minded tendencies to "fall in love" (i.e. even becoming fanatical in their 'belief') with the ideological concepts contained within either of them; therefore, losing their ability to be objective about them; a necessity to get at the truth regarding their content, context and authorship. Although I&#;m not particularly bothered by that, I am bothered by the contention that he is also responsible for writing certain passages of the Prophets, as well as the book of Esther. What is your opinion of all this?
Answer: Throughout the ages there have been many critics of the bible who have asserted many things about its are two types of biblical criticism &#; lower criticism, also known as textual criticism, looks at the differences in the available manuscripts to determine what is most likely the correct text for a given passage. The other type of biblical criticism, known as higher criticism, looks at the source of the text, the environment in which the given text was constructed, cultural context, and a few other factors. In general, with the exception of the canonical approach, higher criticism usually seeks to prove that the bible could not have been written by whom, and when, it has been traditionally accepted as having been authored.

The tie-in is that Arria the Elder was married to the emperor Vespasian’s brother (before Vespasian became emperor). He was T. Flavius Sabinus.
From this relationship we find the connection to the alias names of the Pisos as “Paetus”. Quoting from “The True Authorship of the New Testament,” by Abelard Reuchlin:
“Vespasian relied upon Piso because he was grandson of his own brother - Vespasian’s brother, T. Flavius Sabinus, had married Arria Sr. (i.e., Arria the Elder), who was Piso’s maternal grandmother. Piso’s identity as thus also a Flavian is decipherable from the appearance in the Flavian family line of L. Caesennius Paetus

That was an alias (like Thrasea Paetus) of Piso’s father, L. Calpurnius Piso [Note: we now know Arrius Piso’s father to have been Gaius Calpurnius Piso who was executed by Nero].
