Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury sent to jail in Shamim murder case
A court here on Friday sent Trinamool BNP Chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury to jail in a case lodged over murder of Jubo Dal leader Shamim in
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Afnan Somi passed the order, as police produced Chowdhury before the court and pleaded to keep him behind the bars till the end of probe.
Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury was arrested from the city’s Banani DOHS area on Thursday.
According to the case documents, BNP called a grand rally on October 28, To foil the programme, Awami League too called its own grand rally in the capital. At one stage, Awami League goons, with the help of police, attacked the BNP's rally in Nayapaltan, killing Shamim on the spot.
The case was filed with the capital's Paltan Police Station on September 24,
Former BNP leader Shamser Mobin Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury joined the AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury-led Bikalpa Dhara party on Friday (Oct 26).

Councilors of the newly formed Trinamool BNP have made Bangladesh Nationalist Party&#;s (BNP) former leaders &#; Shamsher Mubin Chowdhury and Taimur Alam Khondokar &#; as Chairman and Secretary General respectively.
