He is familiar with the works of GyÃļrgy Kurtag, Mauricio Kagel, Jonathan Harvey, Harisson Birtwistle, Philippe Boesmans, Peter EÃļtvÃļs, Pierre Boulez, Luca Francesconi, Luc Brewaeys and many others.
In his own country he was the founder of the Prometheus Ensemble that earned in no time a lot of successes in the whole of Europe and was also the chief conductor of Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen where he drew the attention on his original interpretations of classical masterpieces. He was also permanent guest conductor of Brussels Philharmonic and Artist-in-Residence of ÂĢ I Solisti Âģ (season /).
In the Netherlands he was very successful as the principal guest conductor of the ASKO|SchÃļnberg Ensemble and as a guest conductor of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Residentieorkest, Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Radio Chamber Orchestra (to name just a few).
