Andrew Lloyd Webber, Baron Lloyd-Webber, KG is a composer and an impresario of musical theatre, known for musicals including Cats, Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Phantom of the Opera.
Andrew Lloyd Webber was born in in Kensington, London to William Lloyd Webber (–) and Jean Hermione Johnstone (–). [1] Theirs was a musical family. His father was a composer and organist, his mother was a violinist and pianist, and his younger brother, Julian Lloyd Webber, is renowned as a solo cellist.[2]
